Tarah Ferguson

Operations Manager, BC Innovation Council

Tarah Ferguson is the Operations Manager at the BC Innovation Council in Vancouver. Ever since she can remember, she has always been fascinated by “rule-breakers”, and always wanted a platform where she could as she says “kindly interrogate them” about their life adventures (the good, the bad and the ugly).

In 2011, she enrolled in BCIT’s Broadcast Journalism program only to be told by her professor, that to make it in the evolving journalism industry you have to make your own content.  Capitalizing on the incredible entrepreneurs and events she was privy to working at the BC Innovation Council, she instantly created Tarah Talking Tech, and began attending local tech events where she interviewed everyone from tech entrepreneurs, CEO’s, venture capitalists and government officials.

It was there she also began to meet incredible female entrepreneurs working in tech.  Curious to uncover why they got into tech and how they founded their companies, she created Tarah Talking Tech: Women in Tech, to learn more about the women that make up Vancouver’s thriving tech community. In creating this series, Tarah focuses on celebrating the achievements and abilities of women, and providing role models for the next generation of smart, savvy, career driven women.
