James Barrese James Barrese has been Chief Technology Officer of PayPal, Inc. since 2012. Mr. Barrese serves as a technologist with more than 25 years of experience spanning the military, the academic world, business consulting, and enterprise platforms and infrastructure. Mr. Barrese served as Vice President of Systems & Architecture at eBay where he was responsible for infrastructure architecture, software development frameworks, eBay API and a GRID management system.
He previously spent nearly 10 years in executive technology roles at eBay, where he served as a Vice President of Technology. Previously, he worked with companies such as Intel, HP, Novell and Nortel on Internet technology strategy and execution for enterprise systems.
